2017 Recipients

JUNE 2017 – TRINITY TERM GRANT RECIPIENTS

RSSAF received 74 applications for this grant cycle. Grants were awarded to two organisations: one from Zimbabwe and one from Kenya.

1. AfyAfrica

Project site: Narok county, Kenya

Project aim: To train groups of 15 Maasai women to make environmentally friendly briquettes. The
women will also receive financial training and health education about the importance of delivering
one’s baby in a health facility.

2. Gateway to Elation

Organisation website: gatewaytoelation.org

Project site: Bulawayo, Zimbabwe

Project aim: To train blind youth in computer literacy, mobility and social interaction skills.

NOVEMBER 2017 – MICHAELMAS TERM GRANT RECIPIENTS

RSSAF received more than 250 applications for this grant cycle. Grants were awarded to two organisations: one from Uganda and another from Cameroon.

1. Community Initiative for Integrated Rural Development (CIIRD)

Organisation website: www.ciirduganda.org

Project site: Kasaana parish, Kkingo sub-county, Lwengo District, Uganda

Project aim: To build and install 3 water harvesting tanks and install 3 water purification devices in 3 schools; and educate 600 pupils & 10 teachers about the importance of handwashing and good hygiene.

2. Cameroon Association of Active Youths (CAMAAY)

Project site: Bamenda, North-West region, Cameroon

Project aim: The project Fighting Hidden Hunger (Nutrient deficiencies) will set up 5 more school gardens. It will teach children gardening skills and educate them about the importance of good nutrition.
