2014 Recipients

JUNE 2014 – TRINITY TERM GRANT RECIPIENTS

RSSAF received more than 90 applications for this grant cycle. Grants were awarded to two organisations in Uganda and Kenya.

1. Kyazanga Women’s Development Project

Project Site: Busana sub-county, Jinja district in Uganda

Aim: Targeting women and children for a well drilling project. The project will focus on providing clean water to the community to impact on sanitation, hygiene, water borne diseases, school attendances and general improvement in quality of life.

2. Youth In focus Foundation(YIFF)

Project Site: Kangemi Slum, Kenya

Aim: To promote effective waste management and use of renewable energy technologies, while creating income generating opportunities for youth involved in the project.

DECEMBER 2014 – MICHAELMAS TERM GRANT RECIPIENTS

RSSAF received more than 60 applications for this grant cycle. Grants were awarded to two organisations in Uganda and Kenya.

1. Youth Agro-Environment Initiative

Project Site: Gatundu, Kenya

Aim: To equip youth with the technical and business skills necessary for sustainable farming enterprises. This project provides access to pest and disease-free (clean) banana seedlings for smallholder farmers in Gatundu, Kenya.

2. Agape of Hope

Project Site: Kasese, Uganda

Aim: To train young female school dropouts in vocational skills and reproductive health. They received a grant for a re-usable sanitary pad production and life skills training project for young women in Kasese, Uganda.
